Bericht van CooP-Africa (Cycling out of Poverty)

Begin 2008 startte CooP-Africa (Cycling out of Poverty) met haar eerste #Bike4School (toen nog #Cycle2School) project. In Oeganda (in Magoro en Omodoi) kregen 50 scholieren een fiets voor een gereduceerd prijs. In dit rurale gebied is de afstand naar school voor veel kinderen erg groot. Het percentage kinderen dat vroegtijdig hun school verlaat is dan ook erg hoog, met name onder meisjes. Early 2008 CooP-Africa (Cycling out of Poverty) also launched her first #Bike4School (by that time #Cycle2School) project. In Uganda (in Magoro and Omodoi) 50 students were given a bicycle on sponsorship. In this rural part of Uganda distances to school are far. The precentage of students leaving school early (drop-outs) therefor is very high, especially under girls.
