Under the Bike4Care programme, health care workers of various dispensaries in Kenya are now using bicycles to ease their work. Community Health Workers in Chiga Dispensary have now been using their bicycles for 10 months. They use it to visit households to trace defaulters, deliver chlorine tablets, mosquito nets, among other public health interventions. CooP-Africa staff had a chance to accompany one of the CHW’s to her household visits. We even had a chance to interview one of her clients who said that; “CHW’s are now capable to respond to emergencies efficiently, thanks to Bike4Care that has eased their transport challenges”.
