Police in the Northern parts of Uganda are taking the bicycles of the Voluntary Health Teams of the roads. The Bike4Care bicycles are equipped with a carrier on the front. The traffic police stopped the bicycles since they were confused about the front carrier. They were afraid they would be used to carry passengers like a bicycle taxi. Our partner organisation have now informed the police in the areas of the Bike4Care project about the purpose of the front carrier. It is intended for carrying medical supplies, not for carrying passengers. Now the police are no longer apprehending the bicycles, and the health workers can continue with their medical work. More about Bike4Care Uganda.
