Cycling out of Poverty supports entrepreneurs working with waste collection and / or recycling, based on the vision that African small businesses can improve their income if they are supported in making the most of one’s opportunities. Special tricycles are made available on the local market, to enable the easy movement of large loads. But besides access to suitable bicycles, entrepreneurs also need coaching in how to set up and / or expand their business. Therefore, Cycling out of Poverty organised a work week in which 10 entrepreneurs in Uganda were guided in making a business plan for their business. For instance a woman who collects plastic bottles and sells them to the recycling industry to make new bottles or other products. Or someone who wants to recycle waste paper into other products such as Christmas cards. The work week was facilitated by a trainer from WASTE: Nathalie Agathos.
