In Western Kenya, the bicycle is a popular means of transport. It is relatively cheap and gives you the freedom to move around when and where you want. The majority of Kenyans are working in the informal sector, and due to the flexibility of the bicycle, bicycles provides income generating opportunities to this group. In Nyanza Province (Kisumu, Kadette and Ahero) (modified) bicycles are given out on credit to farmers, traders and small entrepreneurs such as street vendors, and bicycle taxi operators.
• Target group: farmers, traders and small entrepreneurs (especially women)
