A family from Alphen aan den Rijn (the Netherlands) sent a fantastic Christmas greeting to their family and friends. Because of their love for cycling, and since one of their sons passed for his “cycling exam”, they decided to support Cycling out of Poverty with this years Christmas wishes. Together with their son (aged 7), they made a presentation of their Christmas story in very clear language and with matching pictures. Some lines from their presentation: “Without a bicycle you will not get very far. On foot it takes very long and that makes you tired. And you’re often late for school. And without a bicycle we cannot go on a cycling holiday. In Africa, children often live far away from school. With a bicycle they reach school faster. They can perform better in school and have time for things around the house. For their mothers a bicycle is also helpful: they can make more money. They are less poor.” For each digital Christmas card they sent out, 50 cents goes to Cycling out of Poverty. A very nice initiative, and the message is brought accross in a clear and powerful way.
