This spring, Geart Tigchelaar is starting a four year cycle journey around the world for CooP-Africa. With this unique and special expedition Geart is raising funds to support CooP-Africa’s bicycle projects in Africa.
Who is this Geart? “I am a 28-year old guy from the northern part of the Netherlands, also known as Fryslân. Currently I am living in Ljouwert finishing my novel and some translations. I love cycling (yeah, duh), hiking, reading, writing, special beers, smoking pipe, tattoos, metal music, black coffee, chocolate etc. etc. And of course my very loving and supporting family!”
The route he is planning to take goes via Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Romania, Turkey, Kazakhstan, China, (India), Japan, Alaska, down the West Coast to Argentina, to Morocco, Spain, France, Belgium back to the Netherlands.
Geart’s fundraising is starting today! Support Geart and donate per kilometer, flat tyre, or just with a gift. Donate to Cycling out of Poverty via bank account NL68 SNSB 0906146356 “Geart fietst de wereld rond”. Read all about Geart’s journey on his blog: https://gearttigchelaar.wordpress.com/.
