You can organise a fundraising event for a Cycling out of Poverty project. Are you planning on a sponsor bicycle holiday abroad? Or a sponsor run at your child’s school? We can help to promote the event or assist in organising.
Do you have a bicycle shop and do you want to support CooP-Africa as Corporate Social Responsibility? Supporting Africans who are earning their living by using a bicycle links with the philosophy of bicycle shop owners in other parts of the world. You can for instance ask your customers who buy a new bicycle at your shop, to donate an extra amount for a bicycle in Africa via CooP-Africa. Contact us to discuss to which project in Africa the donations which are raised via your shop can be linked, and what promotional material we can provide for your shop.

Are you going to make a bicycle tour during your holidays? You can make it a sponsor tour. By asking friends, relatives and companies to sponsor for each kilometre, each flat tyre, a fixed amount, or for an assignment that is executed (such as a photo on a certain spot). A number of people made a sponsor bicycle tour for Cycling out of Poverty, like Edvart who cycled 12.000 km in Africa, Menno Dekhuyzen cycled in America and 5 young students cycling from the Netherlands to Istanbul, Gea van Veen who cycles around the world in the Netherlands, 10 friends cycling the Alps and Apennines. In principle, Cycling out of Poverty is not shipping second hand bicycles to Africa, but we are as much as possible buying bicycles on the local market. Nevertheless, many people ask us if they can donate their 2nd hand bicycles to us for Africa. We are inviting everyone to sell your second hand bicycle in your own country, and donate the profit to us, to be used for new bicycles in Africa.
